Eight-axis turning centres make their debut

Two 8-axis turning centres, one with Y-axis movements, have two spindles and its two turrets are positioned above and below the workpiece and can both work at either spindle.

Japanese machine tool manufacturer Miyano will use the forthcoming EMO exhibition in Hanover as a platform to launch three exciting new machine tools. In Hall 26, Stand H39 on September 14th to 21st the company will emphasise the exceptional capabilities of the new 8-axis ABX-51DH2 and ABX-64SY turning centres and the new MCH-80 machining centre. The new Miyano ABX-51DH2 turning centre has two spindles with two upper turrets both capable of working with a Y-axis.

The new 8-axis Miyano ABX-64SY machine will also consist of two spindles, its two turrets are positioned above and below the workpiece and can both work at either spindle.

The increasing market demand is for a productive, rigid machine with the capability to hold large workpieces - to this end Miyano has developed a 64mm working diameter on the new Miyano ABX-64SY that more than satisfies the market demands.

The third machine to receive its world premiere at EMO will be the Miyano MCH-80 machining centre.

The bar working machining centre has the novel capability of machining on all six faces of a component.

The MCH-80 is an exceptional machine that fully compliments the new range of turning centres.

To accompany the product launches, Miyano will also exhibit its 10-axis ABX-51TH2 twin spindle, three turret turning centre plus the 7-axis BNJ-42SY twin spindle two turret compact turning centre and the 8-axis Miyano BX 26S sliding spindle machine.

Already available in the UK, the popularity and functionality of these machines has seen turnover at Macro CNC, the Miyano subsidiary in the UK increase by 30% in 2004.

'Various Miyano models are achieving sliding head cycle times and provide extra bar capacity'.

'This invaluable combination increases customers machining capabilities considerably'.

'It is this customer realisation that has enabled the business to grow,' says Macro CNC general manager John Stretton.
