CNC lathe offers exceptional flexibility
Intended for production machining relatively complex work, a CNC lathe has 22 tool positions and a high level of interchangeability to give the the user exceptional flexibility.
At an internal exhibition in April, Tornos presented the very first product of the new (s-line) range - the Deco 8sp. At the EMO exhibition in Hanover, on 14th to 21st September 2005, the Swiss manufacturer will launch the second machine of this range - the Deco 20s. This new machine is designed to execute relatively complex parts up to 20 (25.4) mm diameter.
Following its strategy of covering market requirements with finely adapted products, Tornos will display the new Deco 20s, which will include the essential properties, such as programming and kinematics, geared towards simplicity coupled with strong mechanical elements to guarantee high precision.
This lathe, with six linear axes was designed for producing reasonably complex parts whilst producing an excellent price-to-potential ratio.
Before developing the machine, numerous market studies were carried out to ensure that the machine would actually respond to market requirements, in particular for the automotive sector, but also for the medical, general manufacturing, electronics and connector industries.
The considerable strength and power provide the lathe with a very large machining capacity.
Another important aspect is its versatility - the machine has 22 tool positions and a high level of interchangeability to give the Deco 20s exceptional flexibility.
The ergonomic aspect was designed to simplify the use of the Deco 20s.
The machining area is large and well ventilated and all pre-adjusted tools are easily accessible.
To go just that little bit further with respect to customer versatility, Tornos is now offering its clients the option of selecting a programming system that suits their preferences and requirements - namely the TB-DECO, i e ISO.
The Tornos team will be pleased to demonstrate the advantages of the machine at the EMO 2005 exhibition in September.
