ShellMetalworking Europe is helping Ferrari to fire on all cylinders, with a comprehensive fluid management programme that is keepingFerrari's engineering machines running efficiently, maintaining the performance and success synonymous with Ferrari.Fluids, coolants, neat oils and metallurgical expertise suppliedby Shell Metalworking Europe are key to improving Ferrari'sproduction operations and the subsequent on-track performance ofFerrari's formula one cars. Paulo Martinelli, Ferrariformula one engine director comments: 'In F1 we'recontinually working to reduce weight and improve performance, something which is achieved in the production of our in-houseengine components.
Our use of Shell metalworking fluids isessential in improving our production capabilities whichsignificantly contribute to our racing success.' Ferrariuses Shell's neat oils in its deep hole drilling processes, which operate as a much more effective coolant than water-solubleproducts, providing a high level of performance required in theaccurate deep hole drilling of their nitrided steel enginecamshafts.
Ferrari also uses Shell's cooling fluids in itshigh precision grinding operations, which play a key role inachieving an excellent surface finish.
