New brochure outlines motorised conveyor drums
Thorite Power Drive has launched a new brochure outlining itsrange of quality motorised conveyor drums. Part of theLeicester-based quality and precision engineering M and B Group,Thorite Power Drive has been manufacturing its range of motorisedconveyor drums for many years. In that time, Thorite motoriseddrums have earned a strong reputation for quality andreliability.
Manufactured in the UK, they are also offered with adelivery time of approximately 24 hours for standard components, with a guarantee of prompt aftersale service from Thorite'sdedicated team.
Thorite's finely engineered range ofmotorised conveyor drums offers many benefits over conventionalmotor and belt / chain drives.
Increasing drive efficiency, 95%of available motor power is transferred to the conveyor beltcompared with 80 - 80% as with conventional drive drum systems. The compact design requires minimum space and allows for maximumflexibility in conveyor design.
Easy and quick to install, thedrums are simply positioned in two mounting brackets andconnected to power.
With highly durable construction, all metalgears are manufactured from high alloy steel, with precision-cutspecially hardened helical teeth, designed for frequentstop-starts.
Providing minimal maintenance, an oil change isrecommended only every 10,000 hours.
Totally enclosedconstruction reduces noise levels for quiet operation, while, with no exposed moving parts, there is virtually no risk ofinjury when in use.
With an intrinsically hygienic design, alldrums are sealed to IEC standard IP65 / 66 specification, protecting all components from dust or moisture and can be hoseddown using 700 psi water or 100 psi steam.
For even greaterhygiene requirements, drums re optionally available with allstainless steel shell, end caps, shafts, terminal box andmounting brackets, and with special finishes and rubber coatingsavailable on request.
Thorite motorised drums can be found at theheart of thousands of belt conveyors throughout the world, with amultitude of applications in food processing, industrialapplications and bulk handling.
