Improved robotic force platform and controls
Robotic force control platform manufacturer Pushcorp has recentlyintroduced a new range of force-controlled tools for use inrobotic grinding, de-flashing, and polishing automation. The newAFD1000 incorporates many new improvements and features thatgreatly enhance its performance, reliability, ease-of-use andmaintainability. All of these features are a direct result ofyears of experience and suggestions from the use of the originalAFD100 series tools in inhospitable production environments.
Someof the improvements include:- Completely new pneumatic valvetechnology.
Aerospace rated flow valve has large orifice sizemaking it much less sensitive to particle contamination andnearly impervious to oil contamination.
Completely new pneumaticcylinder technology Pushcorp now manufactures its own cylindersto provide superior performance.
The cylinders operate with nolubrication to attract dust contamination.
The cylinder utilisehigh quality wipers and Teflon seals to provide low friction and20 times the life of older cylinders.
Improved force controlperformance The new FCU controller combines with the abovefeatures to greatly improve dynamic force response.
This enablesfaster robot feed rates and higher production throughput.Improved maintainability The AFD1000 now utilises a high speeddigital connection to the FCU1000 controller.
This means thecable is smaller and more flexible.
Also the AFD1000 is'smart' in that it is no longer necessary to deal with'Calibration Parameters' when swapping tools.
Tools canbe changed at any time and the parameters are updatedautomatically without any required user input.
The Pushcorp Rangeof compliant platforms, weld shavers, and grinding spindles areavailable in Europe through Robotic Tooling supplier TIA Ltd.
ThePushcorp range complements TIA existing range of end effectortooling including gripper's, tool changers, anti-crashtooling, six axis force/torque sensors, robot covers, weld gunwater savers and robotic de-burring systems.
