Magics for Objet released by Materialise

Materialise NV, world leader in software development for the rapid prototyping and manufacturing (RPandM) industry, and Objet Geometries, the world leader in ultra-thin layer photopolymer jetting, are proud to announce the release of Magics for Objet, a customised version of Materialise' Magics software that has been developed to meet the specific requirements of production on Objet 3-D printing equipment. With Magics for Objet's highly automated, powerful tools, designs can be easily corrected and modified. By examining STL files thoroughly and quickly on-screen, quality issues can be avoided later on.

Magics for Objet allows users to highlight and locate problems in STL files, perform 2-D and 3-D measurements, orientate parts, and document part features or measurements in clear print-outs.

Magics for Objet provides unmatched means to correct errors and create the perfect STL file in a matter of minutes.

The Fix Wizard automates the repair of the STL model, which drastically reduces the skill level and time required to repair files.

The Wizard's intuitive interface quickly identifies errors and recommends successive steps for correcting them, guiding the user step by step through the repair process.

Automatic and manual fixing tools are available for, for example, inversion of flipped triangles, stitching of bad edges and filling of complex holes.

Magics for Objet also offers intelligent tools to make process-related design changes directly on the part.

Parts can be cut to reduce the build height or length, and to optimise the amount of support material needed.

The 'teeth' cut ensures an easy, perfect fit.

Parts can be hollowed and thus become faster to produce, while ensuring a minimal material cost.

The powerful automatic part placement nests all parts on the platform in the most optimal way, by minimising the travel distance of the print head and therefore reducing the build time.

Tall parts are automatically flipped down to minimise the build height.

Platform and part properties can be easily documented by using Microsoft Word templates to generate reports.
