Universal millers have 100% better dynamics
Within months of its launch the new DMU monoBLOCK series of universal milling machines from DMG has been placed on the UK's stock machine list. The reason for its swift popularity is exceptional value for money. It does the job quicker and at no extra cost.
The range provides 100% better dynamics, 30% faster rotary axes (200% on the 5-axis version) and 25% shorter chip-to-chip times.
When combined with the flexibility provided by the extended swivel range of the B-axis, this all adds up to a highly cost-effective investment.
With a starting price in the UK of just GBP 75,900 and available for immediate delivery the DMU monoBLOCK series comprises three basic models - the DMU 60/80/100 - each of which can be expanded.
They can be configured for 3-axis machining with a fixed table with table load of 700kg and manually swivelling milling head and with a B-axis and up to 800kg NC-rotary table for five-sided/5 axis machining.
The 5-axis version has a much larger B-axis swivel range, a total of 150 deg.
This allows the machining of negative angles up to 30 deg.
In combination with the reduction in minimum distance between the horizontal spindle and the table surface to 188mm, this feature considerably extends the production potential of the series.
The machines can be used effectively for a full spectrum of universal machining, including high-speed applications, while providing an increase in accessibility and ease of use.
The new DMU monoBLOCK series is based on the DMU T-series but is much more than a simple upgrade.
These models have been completely redesigned to a much smaller footprint, indeed they are 25% more compact than their forerunners.
In addition to increased productivity and flexibility process safety has been enhanced, a major contributor to this being an integral chip conveyor supplied as part of the standard package.
